We are nearing the end of the year and what a year it has been so far! This week, we will be looking at three livestock auctions with the first one on Monday in Mpumalanga, followed by another one in Stella in North West.
Another livestock auction will take place in Witbank, also in North West, followed by the Western Cape Agri Workers Awards. We close off the week by saving a date for a farmers’ day in the Northern Cape.

Devon Livestock Sale
All types of livestock are welcome!

Karoo Ochse Auction
The monthly Karoo Ochse Auction will be held in Stella in North West with farmers from the surrounding towns encouraged to attend.

Western Cape Agri Workers Awards
The Western Cape department of agriculture has been financially involved with the competition and is responsible for the administration and coordination thereof. The competition has grown from 36 entries in the Hex Valley, in 2002. In 2022, 994 agri workers participated in the competition. To date, a total of 15 035 agri-workers have participated in the competition.

Farmers’ Market Day
The Youth in Agriculture and Rural Development (Yard) in the Magareng area in the Northern Cape will host a farmers’ market day to showcase farmers’ products to the community and increase their chances of getting new markets.
