Register for Land Conference 2022

The Institute of Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) at the University of the Western Cape, in partnership with the University of Cape Town and Wits University, is hosting the 2022 Land Conference. This event takes place from 23 February 2022 and aims to focus on the issues surrounding tenure security, customary land rights as well as dispossession.

Thursday, 10 February

State of the Nation Address 2022

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver his State of The Nation Address (SONA) this Thursday to the joint sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces at 19:00. This address provides the president with the opportunity of speaking to the nation on the general state of South Africa and includes reflections on a wide range of political, economic and social matters within the domestic as well as global contexts.

Jonkershoek Bull & Heifer Auction

The Jonkershoek Bull & Heifer auction takes place 20 km outside of Kimberley in Jonkershoek and will also include a virtual online auction on the SwiftVEE platform. The auction is offering 47 bulls as well as 200 heifers.

Annual Victoria West Horse Show

This two-day event kickstarts on Friday, 11 February and offers loads of activities. The Victoria West Show includes the annual horse show, which aims to feature 75 horses, speed shearing competition, great meals as well as the opportunity of networking.

The world’s largest and most competitive F&B event

Agritecture is hosting the Gulfood Inspire F&B event this Sunday. This five-day conference aims to learn and debate the important topics and trends for 2022 and beyond. As the world’s largest F&B event, this conference aims to create new networks across the value chain and offers essential content for the community. Over 200 speakers including ministers, F&B business leaders, agriculturists as well as Agritecture’s founder and CEO, Henry Gordon-Smith, will form part of this conference.
