Addressing members of the media in a pre-tabling briefing in Cape Town, Didiza said that the bulk of the budget will be transferred to the provinces and agricultural entities.
“A portion of our national budget goes towards the commercialisation of black farmers through land development support as well as land acquisition.”
The minister also said that the department will focus on providing basic infrastructure on government-owned PLAS farms, while the department intends to support 250 000 subsistence farmers through the PESI programme.
