Meet Michaela Sandmayr, a grain and crop farmer from Austria and the visionary behind Landwort, a company committed to enhancing how farmers share their stories with the public and the agricultural industry. In this episode, she shares insights into her farming journey, her motivations for founding Landwort, and the impact her business has had on over 2 000 farmers.
Founded to empower farmers, Landwort provides workshops that teach essential communication skills. “Everyone talks about agriculture, but basically no one talks with the farmers. We really wanted to change that,” Sandmayr shares.
Despite initial resistance from some farmers, the impact of Landwort’s work is evident, having supported over 2 000 farmers in mastering storytelling and public speaking.

Sandmayr’s dual role as a farmer and a communications expert offers her a unique perspective. “I’ve been actively farming for half a year now. It is challenging but really rewarding. I love it so much,” she says.
Balancing traditional farming with modern communication, she embraces digital tools to address contemporary challenges.
Landwort’s mission also extends to shaping the future of agriculture. Through a study involving over 400 farmers, they underscored the significance of farmers in societal discussions about their industry.
“We encourage farmers to communicate what they stand for and how they approach farming. Once we know that, then we have a starting point,” Sandmayr says.
