In the past, Trenton Birch used music as a weapon to break down racial barriers in his attempt to change the world. Today, he uses cannabis, hemp, and education, through the Cheeba Cannabis Academy to drive this change.
In a new episode on Farmer’s Inside Track, Birch, who is the CEO of Cheeba Cannabis Academy, shares his journey within the cannabis industry, why he started the cannabis academy, and his thoughts on Mzansi’s education system.
Who is Trenton Birch?
Growing up in various parts of the world shaped Birch’s view of life. He has a great love for cannabis and how it medically has come to the fore in various parts of the world.
He further mentions that if the world were only cannabis consumers, it would be a very different kind of place. And he means that positively.
“I got a real appreciation for the plant and its medicinal properties. I believe if everyone consumed cannabis in the world, we would be living in a very different place,” he says.
In addition, he makes reference to the alcohol industry and how excessive use of alcohol has caused damage within communities.
“Here, we have this plant that nobody in the history of mankind has ever died from. It’s banned and now coming out of prohibition purely because of manipulation of the media and cooperate greed,” he says.
Transforming the education system
In the episode, Birch also shares his views on South Africa’s education system. He has 12 years of education experience and shares that since the beginning of Cheeba Cannabis Academy, the aim has always been to educate people about the hemp and cannabis industry.
In this episode, Birch also discusses:
- Reasons why he started Cheeba Cannabis Academy; and
- How he sees agriculture moving with technology.
