Hey farmers!
This week we have exciting events on the calendar! We start the week off with a beef farming management and production course in George, followed by a Farming God’s Way training in KwaZulu-Natal, and also a three-day conference on shaping the future vertical farming and new food systems function in Cape Town.
On Tuesday there is a livestock production sale in Bultfontein, Free State, followed by this week’s Gather To Grow session on Instagram Live brought to you by Food For Mzansi.
On Thursday, we will head all the way to Outeniqua Auction Premises in George for a livestock sale. We close the week off on a high with a Food For Mzansi Farmers’ Day in the Northern Cape.

Farming God’s Way training
Get ready for spring by attending this five-day training which will cover both field-scale planting of maize as well as an intro to mixed-vegetable gardening.
The cost is R300 with a sliding scale according to your means. Please don’t forget to bring snacks, fruit, and drinks to share.

Beef farming management and production course
Rothman Livestock Training and Consultants are going back to the basics of beef farming management and production. With a combination of fun and knowledge, attendees will explore different topics relating to management and production.

Shaping the future of vertical farming and new food systems
The concept of vertical farming, controlled environment agriculture and new food systems has already become an issue of strategic global importance and is producing a vibrant developing market, with innovative startups and major corporations driving the development of vertical farming in cosmopolitan areas. The aim of new food systems is to maximize and secure yields, without neglecting ecological and social factors.
With intentions of tackling vertical farming and food systems, attendees will network and have an opportunity to engage with industry experts.
