This week’s events include food safety and goat farming training sessions, a Gather To Grow Twitter session, a webinar on youth funding, a cannabis expo, and a pomegranate festival. To include your event in the calendar, please email info@foodformzansi.co.za.


This week’s events are all about industry developments and improving your farm knowledge. Monday starts with a food safety training session hosted by Krystal Consulting.

On Tuesday, Ubali Farm invites you to the Ubali Pomegranate Festival, then on Wednesday, farmers Gather To Grow with Food For Mzansi to discuss the cannabis master plan.

Thursday takes us to a youth funding webinar targeted at youth SMMEs. On Friday the Cannabis Expo kicks off, and Qhakaza Goats Farmers Association hosts their goat farming training in Gauteng.

Youth funding webinar

The department of small business development is hosting a Youth Challenged Fund Webinar. The webinar hosted on Thursday, 23 March is targeted at youth SMMEs who are in the green economy, technology, and innovation industry.

Hosted in collaboration with the Small Enterprise Finance Agency and the Small Enterprise Development Agency, interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP by Wednesday, 22 March to businessboost@sefa.org.za.

Friday 24 March

Cannabis Expo kicks off in the Mother City

The Cannabis Expo is back and will be staged from Friday, the 24th to Sunday, the 26th of March at GrandWest.

The cannabis industry is exploding, and the Cannabis Expo provides the perfect platform for international and local medical health professionals, agricultural providers, and lifestyle brands to engage with industry experts and the public around this versatile plant.

Need training on goat farming?

Qhakaza Goats Farmers Association is hosting a two-day training programme from Friday, 24 to Saturday, 25 March in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. The training sessions will cover goats for markets, farming training, breeding, and markets.

The sessions include study material and much more. Admission is R1 650 per farmer.

Qhakaza Goats Farmers Association is focused on creating opportunities for goat farmers to reach markets and enlarge goat farming industries.
