Hey farmers! This week starts off with a five-day hemp course all the way in Frankfort in the Free State on Monday, followed by a production sale in Gauteng on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, remember to set your reminder for this week’s Gather To Grow session on Instagram Live brought to you by Food For Mzansi, followed by a goat market information day on Thursday. Still on Thursday, all roads lead to North West for Food For Mzansi’s first farmers’ day of the week.
On Friday we have a livestock auction in North West, and we close it off with our second farmer’s day in Mpumalanga.
Monday, 25 September
Five-day hemp course
Agro-processors are all encouraged to complete a proposal for potential funding by the Gauteng department of agriculture, and the deadline is today before 17:00!
The course will focus on plant propagation, participation in the development and management of an agribusiness plant, introduction to industrial hemp, growing industrial hemp, hemp processing, and more.

Production auction
The 13th production auction of Dolf and Estie du Bruyn and guest seller will take place from 11:00 on the farm Ons S’n in Bultfontein.
On offer:
1145 Top SAMM sheep, consisting of:
- 40 SP rams
- 200 young ewes (ram mature)
- 700 lambs (slaughter/store)
On behalf of the guest seller:
- 100 ewes
- 55 ewe lambs
- 50 Wether lambs
- 150 lambing pen panels
- Various drinking troughs
- 5 donkeys

Applications are drawing to a close on the 9th of October. With a course fee of R 1500, the information day is taking place from the 23 to 27 October.
