Hello Mzansi! On Monday, there will be a global discussion on sustaining forests for a greener future, followed by a virtual event on Tuesday to commemorate International Women’s Month.
Two events worth attending on Wednesday are Food For Mzansi’s weekly edition of its #GatherToGrow on Twitter Spaces, and an event transforming rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa through food. On Thursday and Friday, workshops on South Africa’s dairy industry and sustainable water management in agriculture will take place.

International Day of Forests
On March 21st, the United Nations forum on forests and the Food and Agriculture Organisation will host an online event to discuss how forest-based innovations and products, resource efficiency and ecosystem services can contribute to a sustainable lifestyle and accelerate a shift towards more sustainable consumption and production.
The theme of the discussion on the occasion of the 2022 celebration of the International Day of Forests is “Sustaining forests for our greener future”.
The 2022 celebration aims to raise awareness of how sustainable production and consumption of forest resources helps to restore balance in how we use natural resources. It is about increasing efficiency, reducing environmental degradation, and creating sustainable lifestyles for current and future generations.

Gender equality for sustainable agriculture in Africa
Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition is organising a virtual event to commemorate International Women’s Month.
The event, themed “Gender Equality for Sustainable Agriculture in Africa”, will bring together industry experts to participate in a panel discussion on barriers that are currently limiting women’s participation in agriculture, as well as ensure equitable access to women farmers and promote pro-women policies.
