The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) is taking green innovation directly to the farm gate. From July to October 2025, a series of green economy help desks will pop up across the province – bringing free, hands-on support to farmers and agri-businesses ready to future-proof their operations.
Hosted in partnership with GreenCape, these help desks are a one-stop shop for practical, cost-saving advice on renewable energy and water-efficient technologies. Whether it’s installing solar power, harvesting rainwater, or reducing energy consumption, these support desks are designed to provide practical guidance to help businesses make informed investment decisions.
Support where it matters most
The goal is simple: help farmers and agri-enterprises transition to more sustainable practices by understanding their options and tapping into cost-effective, climate-adaptive technologies.
Each help desk offers:
- One-on-one consultations with green economy specialists
- Networking opportunities with other agri-businesses
- Tailored resources to guide energy and water investment planning

- 15 July 2025 – Saldanha Bay, West Coast
- 29 July 2025 – Beaufort West, Central Karoo
- 31 July 2025 – Mossel Bay, Garden Route
- 17 September 2025 – Cape Town City Centre
- 7 October 2025 – Paarl, Cape Winelands
- 9 October 2025 – Hermanus, Overberg
