The weekend is here, and weather warnings have been issued for parts of Mzansi.
According to AfriWeather, an affiliate of the South African Weather Service (SAWS), impact-based warnings have been issued for the following conditions:
Damaging winds
A yellow level 1 warning for damaging winds, expected over the Makana local municipality, Joe Gqabi district municipality and Chris Hani district in the Eastern Cape, has been issued. The winds might result in localised power and communication interruptions, localised damage to temporary structures as well as some disruptions to road transport.
Fire danger
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the Free State, North West, the northern interior of the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, the central and western parts of Limpopo and the extreme western parts of Mpumalanga. Farmers are advised to practise extreme caution.
Heatwave
A heatwave is expected in places over Mpumalanga and Limpopo until Saturday, excluding the Lowveld and escarpment areas of the two provinces.
Extremely hot conditions are expected in places in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo on Saturday.
