As the seasons shift and the fields prepare for new growth, Food For Mzansi and the Agricultural Development Agency (AGDA) invite you to pause, reflect, and celebrate at Soul To Soil 2025 — a brunch dedicated to honouring the women who cultivate South Africa’s agricultural heartbeat.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, from 09:00 to 13:00, at the elegant Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel in Centurion. Tickets are priced at R299 and are available now at www.soultosoil.co.za.

Now in its second year, Soul To Soil has become one of the most soulful and inspiring gatherings on the agricultural calendar — a space where women from farms, laboratories, boardrooms, and agribusinesses come together to share stories, celebrate achievements, and reconnect with their purpose.

This year’s line-up promises to be unforgettable. Leading the morning’s reflections is Vuyiswa Ramakgopa, Gauteng MEC for agriculture and rural development, who will deliver the keynote address. With her signature blend of insight and inspiration, she’ll share her vision for women’s empowerment and transformation in agriculture.

Joining her on the stage are some of the most influential voices shaping the future of food and farming:

  • Leona Archary, CEO of AGDA, will speak on leadership, innovation, and the powerful ripple effect of women-led agribusiness.
  • Dr Konanani Liphadzi, deputy chairperson of the Agricultural Research Council board, brings a wealth of knowledge in plant production, research, and agribusiness strategy.
  • Elna Schoeman, from the century-old Schoeman Boerdery, will reflect on building sustainable, values-driven family farms that empower both workers and communities.
  • Lucia Motloung, founder of LucMo Wines, will share her journey of crafting wines that honour African heritage and elevate women’s voices in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Guiding guests through the morning’s conversations is none other than Mmatsheko Mosito, award-nominated radio and TV presenter and host of Planting the Seed on Channel Africa. With her warmth, insight, and passion for women’s empowerment, she promises to make Soul To Soil a morning to remember.

Guests can look forward to a gourmet brunch, sparkling moments, and conversations that nourish the spirit. Expect stories of courage, creativity, and resilience — and the chance to connect with like-minded women who are shaping South Africa’s fields and futures.

THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE

With 21 global awards in the first six years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
