At NAMPO Harvest Day, Food For Mzansi, together with the Agricultural Development Agency (AGDA) and in partnership with Anchor Capital, brings together farmers, financiers, and industry partners for a focused lunchtime conversation on de-risking agriculture and financing the next generation of South African farmers. This session explores practical, solution-driven insights into what makes farmers investable and how finance can be structured to support long-term success. Through real-world examples and shared experiences, the discussion will explore how farmers can better access finance and markets, while building resilient and commercially viable enterprises.
Key focus areas include:
• Improving access to finance and markets for farmers
• Understanding what makes farming operations attractive to investors
• Exploring models that reduce risk and improve returns
• Learning from real-world examples of successful partnerships and scaling
• Strengthening collaboration across the agricultural value chain
This is more than just a conversation about funding. It’s about giving farmers the support and confidence they need to grow.
THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE
With 21 global awards in the first six years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
