This week’s events include two online webinars, Food For Mzansi’s Gather To Grow on Instagram Live, a climate-smart farming training session, and a worm farm workshop. To include your event in the calendar, please send an email to info@foodformzansi.co.za.


As we start our festive season, we kick off by getting ready for the United Nations Climate Change Conference On Monday, followed by a Jobs Fund webinar on Tuesday, and a Livestock Health and Production Webinar.

On Wednesday, we have our usual date on Instagram Live for a Food For Mzansi Gather To Grow Session.

On Thursday we have the Climate Smart Livestock Farming For Sustainable Food Security all the way in George, Western Cape.

We close things off on a high on Friday, by giving you the chance to prepare yourself for the Vermicast Worm Farm Workshop in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Monday, 27 November

Get ready for the UN Climate Change Conference

Agricultural experts from across the globe will gather for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly referred to as COP28. The conference seeks to look at alternative solutions to the current challenges faced by farmers and ordinary communities with regard to the impact of climate change.

Jobs Fund Webinar

Under the theme “The Inclusion of Emerging Farmers in Livestock Value Chains: Learnerships from the Sernick Farmer Support Programme”, participants can join the Jobs Fund and the Sernick team for a webinar discussing small-holder farmer empowerment, value chain inclusion and long-term sustainability of farming operations.

Climate-smart Livestock Farming For Sustainable Food Security

Join Empire Conferencing on a three-day intensive conference and study tour on improved strategies for raising livestock for sustainable food security.

Participants will explore different topics relating to research and development and long-term commitment to meet the changing consumer demands to increase efficiency in the food chain, reduce the ecological footprint, minimize the use of antibiotics, contribute to food safety, and better the health and welfare of livestock.
