Discover the ultimate solution for healthier, thriving animals, ensuring peak vitality and robustness for your livestock.
Need to add some fatty meat to the bone of your livestock? The best time to start fattening your livestock is during November right through to December, and the Voermol SS 200 product gives your animals just the boost they need.
SS 200, which is also one of Voermol’s flagship products, is developed for small stock and is a fattening concentrate, meaning this product needs to be mixed with grain and hay. The main use is to fatten lambs in a feedlot environment, so there are a few options for making your feed using Voermol SS 200 along with Voermol Procon 33 for optimal growth.
During the festive season, meat prices usually steadily increase, and to hit those higher price margins, third-generation farmer Hlobisile Yende from Gauteng takes advantage of Voermol SS 200. “We use Voermol SS 200 for our small stock such as goats and sheep,” she explains.
The results on her smaller stock could not be better, and as a proud Voermol Feeds user, Yende is quite excited to start using SS 200 for the upcoming season.
Spending money saves you in the long run
Money makes the world go round, and for Yende, spending money to give her small stock the best possible outcome based on health has never been an issue. As an animal lover, she speaks volumes about the passion, care, and discipline required for a farmer to invest in their animals and receive great profits from the stock.
“It’s worth the money because our animals are in great condition and not as affected during winter. We use about four 50kg bags a week because it’s a concentrate; we mix it with maize and roughage. Because I love it, it makes it easier. I treat it as an investment. If you love it, it will love you back. If you take care of it, it will take care of you, and I think of it as a generational activity,” she says.
At the end of the day, Yende prides herself on seeking out products that have effective results. She is always open to learning, unlearning, and relearning. Her ability to grow has truly shown that this Voermol Feeds user is building a legacy.
“I am still open to learning and upskilling so that the herd can continue to grow because the last thing you want to do is spend without seeing effective results,” she says.
