Beefmaster Group recently celebrated the dedication and commitment of its long-serving employees with two prestigious ceremonies. As Kimberley’s largest private employer, the company honoured 60 employees across its operations, including its meat processing facility in Kimberley and Feedlot in Christiana, as well as its Beefmaster Retail staff in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

Human resource manager Cindy Nkgoeng said the loyalty demonstrated by their long-serving employees was truly remarkable and deeply valued by the company.

“These ceremonies are more than just recognition events, they’re a celebration of the incredible individuals who have contributed to making Beefmaster Group what it is today,” she said.

Celebrating years of dedication

The Kimberley ceremony recognised 54 employees across various service milestones, with 35 employees receiving awards for 10 years of service, 10 employees for 15 years, and four employees each for both 20 and 25 years of service.

A particular highlight was the recognition of Abram Liau Sello for his exceptional 35-year tenure with the company. Meanwhile, at the Gauteng ceremony, six employees from Beefmaster Retail were honoured for achieving an incredible 15-year service milestone.

“Having employees who have dedicated 35 years of their lives to Beefmaster is a significant achievement that fills us with pride. These individuals are more than just employees – they are our most valued assets and the true superpower behind our company’s success.

“This internal growth trajectory exemplifies Beefmaster’s commitment to nurturing talent from within, providing comprehensive training programmes, mentorship opportunities, and clear advancement pathways that enable employees to build fulfilling careers,” she said.

Nkgoeng said one of the most rewarding parts of the long service awards was recognising that many of the individuals commenced their journey with entry-level positions at the company, steadily advancing through the ranks to assume management roles over the years.

She said that the company’s promote-from-within philosophy not only rewards dedication and competence but also helps maintain institutional knowledge while inspiring newer employees to envision their own long-term future with the organisation.

“As a significant employer in Central South Africa, the long-term economic impact of employment extends far beyond individual careers, creating a ripple effect throughout our local communities by providing stable income, skills development, and career advancement opportunities that help sustain families and stimulate regional economic growth,” she said.
