Mandla Msibi, the former MEC for Mpumalanga, will learn his fate on Tuesday when the court rules on his bail plea.
Msibi was arrested on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder this week.
Last week, the court heard testimony from an officer who was investigating a shooting in August in which Msibi was also present.
Bail for the former MEC of agriculture, land reform, and environmental affairs is being opposed by the state.
Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane removed him from his position.
Chilean cherry season has strong kick-off
Autumn – or fall – is here, which means Chilean cherry season is rapidly approaching.
Chile expects significant growth in cherry exports to the United States in 2021-22, with the season lasting more than 12 weeks for the first time, from November to February. During the 2021/22 season, the Chilean Cherry Committee estimates that almost 13 000 tons of Chilean cherries will be exported to the United States.
Chile is the world’s top exporter of cherries, and development is expected to continue in the future years. While China has been the primary market for Chilean cherries, the industry is trying hard to expand into new markets, notably the United States.
The Committee will fund an enhanced marketing initiative covering multiple consumer and retail components encouraging consumers to “Cherish the Moment” in order to support the greater quantities going into the market. New merchandising material will communicate distinct occasions for eating Chilean cherries beginning in December and continuing through February.
The first shipments of cherries will depart from Chile by early November and will continue through early February.
