Just nine weeks to go, and the race to the 2026 Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba leaderboard is heating up. Gauteng is holding firm at the top, North West has clawed its way back into second, Free State stays steady in third, and Mpumalanga is quietly pushing at fourth. Northern Cape has now overtaken Limpopo for fifth, proving every province is hungry to make its mark.
This isn’t just a numbers game. Every registration shows who is truly invested in the future of South African farming, with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow alongside senior partners such as Land Bank, Kagiso Trust, First Rand Empowerment Fund, and John Deere.
#FFMIndaba26 takes place from Wednesday, 8 to Thursday, 9 April 2026 at Choose Life Centre at 589 Rubenstein Drive, Moreleta Park, Pretoria East. Tickets are available on farmingindaba.com or Quicket.
Farming stories that inspire
And the programme is shaping up to be unmissable…. Daily speakers are now being revealed on Food For Mzansi’s social media channels, but the one panel everyone always looks forward to is the farmers themselves — sharing their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs that are shaping the future of agriculture.
This year’s line-up includes Elize Beukes, farming grapes, livestock and vegetables in the Northern Cape; Motshidisi Modise, growing wheat and maize in Mpumalanga; Dibesho Serage, producing deciduous fruit in Limpopo; Nompumelelo Dhlamini, a mixed farmer from Gauteng; and Thabo Dithakgwe, a cattle farmer from the Northern Cape.
The session will be moderated by Tumelo Mothotoane. You’ve seen her asking the tough questions as an eNCA news anchor, and now she takes the stage at #FFMIndaba26. A Food For Mzansi fan herself, Tumelo will lead what promises to be a bold conversation.
“This is a panel for those who know that farming is not a dream. It’s a daily fight,” says Ivor Price, managing director of Food For Mzansi. “They will speak openly about the struggle to access land, the search for mentors and markets, the moments of doubt, and the breakthroughs that change everything.”
But that’s just one highlight. Across two days, #FFMIndaba26 will feature masterclasses, exhibition halls, networking opportunities, and power sessions with top industry players. With registrations climbing and the excitement building, the 2026 Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba promises to be the most dynamic, hands-on, and inspiring gathering of young farmers yet.
