This festive season, Jacobs is turning the spotlight onto the table with a dessert that’s as joyful as the celebrations themselves. Say hello to the Festive Cherry & Chocolate Coffee Charlotte – a decadent delight that combines the bold aroma of Jacobs coffee with indulgent chocolate and the juicy sweetness of seasonal cherries.

It’s the kind of dessert that makes people pause, take a deep breath, and smile. Every bite is a dance of flavours: rich coffee, creamy mascarpone, luscious cherries, and a hint of dark chocolate.

Designed to be the hero of your holiday table, this Charlotte is about indulgence, togetherness, and creating moments worth savouring. Whether it’s Christmas lunch, a sparkling year-end gathering, or a special treat for someone you love, this dessert promises a touch of magic.

Jacobs reminds South Africans that the holidays are all about savouring the moment. And what better way than with a showstopper that celebrates bold coffee flavours in perfect harmony with festive sweetness?

Festive Cherry & Chocolate Coffee Charlotte Recipe

Serves: 6–8 | Perfect for: Christmas or festive tables

Ingredients:

  • Some oil for the mould
  • 175g Boudoir finger biscuits
  • 2–3 tbsp brandy
  • 1 small cup of strong Jacobs coffee
  • 300ml cream
  • 200g mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (plus extra for dusting)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
  • 300g cherries, pitted and halved (plus 3 cherries for garnish)
  • 100g dark chocolate, melted

Instructions:

  1. Lightly brush a deep bowl with oil and line the base with baking paper. Set aside 5 biscuits.
  2. Mix brandy and Jacobs coffee, then briefly soak the remaining biscuits. Line the bowl with halved biscuits at the bottom and whole biscuits around the edge (sweet side facing out).
  3. Whip cream until stiff, then fold in mascarpone. Divide into two bowls — mix cocoa + powdered sugar into one, and cherries into the other.
  4. Alternate layering the cream mixtures in the biscuit-lined bowl. Add spoonfuls of leftover soaked biscuits on top and press down firmly. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight to set.
  5. Before serving, invert onto a plate. Dust generously with cocoa and powdered sugar, garnish with cherries, and drizzle with melted dark chocolate. Serve and enjoy!

Whether enjoyed at a long family lunch, shared around a sparkling table, or gifted to someone special, this Jacobs Festive Cherry & Chocolate Coffee Charlotte elevates every holiday moment. It’s not just a dessert. It’s a celebration of flavour, coffee, and the joy of being together.
