Pests and insects can be a major irritation to farmers. These unwelcome intruders pose a significant threat to crop productivity, leading to financial strain for farmers and jeopardising global food security.

Farmers should care about pest management because it can significantly reduce crop yields and lead to financial losses.

Then there is the safe and responsible use of chemical pesticides. Improper use of chemical pesticides can pose risks to human health, including acute poisoning, chronic illnesses, and long-term health effects. Following safety protocols and using protective equipment can minimise these risks and protect the health of farmers and farmworkers.

Here are a few articles that can help you understand these critters and how you can better protect your farm, workers and the environment.

Why a fly management programme is a must for farmers

This article highlights the importance of managing fly populations in animal production environments due to their potential to transmit diseases and negatively impact animal well-being.
