Deep in the heart of Limpopo, seven remarkable women are rewriting the narrative of agricultural cooperatives. Meet Wendy Moshakga and Mologadi Madisha, the driving force behind Sisters in Farming, a cooperative challenging the traditional agricultural model and empowering women in the process.
In this episode, Moshakga and Madisha shed light on the rich history and inspiring future of these vital community structures. Their journey began with a shared vision to support each other and expand their businesses, particularly in the face of the challenges inherent to the agricultural industry.
“Being a young farmer on its own is quite challenging. Now imagine a young farmer in the rural and communal lands. There is no room for expansion, there are not enough services. When we came together, we found common problems and [suggested that] we work together,“ Moshakga explains.
