Greetings farmers

As June slowly draws to a close, we look ahead with excitement to what the week has in store. If you are looking to learn new skills or improve your knowledge, there are a few courses you can enter. Agri Skills Transfer offers tractor training and an artificial intelligence (AI) in dairy course.

For those who want to venture into wine selling, there is a masterclass in winemaking and selling in North West. Looking to expand your operation? There is a livestock auction in Kariega in the Eastern Cape, and we close the week with a biological conference in Gauteng.

Monday 23 June

Tractor Training

Agri Skills Transfer will have a tractor training course on 25–27 June 2025 at the Agri Skills Transfer Cullinan Farm. Tractors are the heart of the farm, and knowing how to operate them safely and efficiently is a must for every farmer and farmworker. The training will involve safe tractor operation, maintenance tips, field handling techniques, and how to boost your farm’s productivity.

Tuesday 24 June

Dairy AI Training

Agri Skills Transfer will have the Artificial Insemination (Dairy) Course on the 23 – 27 June 2025 at their Cullinan Farm. The course is in partnership with the Milk Producers’ Organisation. To boost your career with this specialised, hands-on training. Learn the latest AI techniques to improve herd genetics, fertility rates, and milk production on your farm.

Things to learn on the course will include practical, farm-based learning, taught by industry experts, and a certificate of competence on completion.

Wednesday 25 June

Siwela Wine Masterclass

A wine entrepreneurship masterclass for those interested in starting their own wine brand or getting into the wine industry will be presented by Siwela Wine. Learns the dos and don’ts of the wine industry.

Livestock Auction

The Brakkefontein livestock auction takes place on 26 June 2025 from 11:00 at the Brakkefontein Auction Premises, Rocklands, Kariega.

Friday 27 June

Biological Conference

The 2025 international conference will bring together academia, researchers, engineers, and students to share findings, establish research/business relations, and find collaborations. Attendees can expect lectures, Best Paper Awards, and publications for discussions.
