So, how do I register?
It’s easy. You simply click here to book your seat. Seats are limited, though, so don’t wait until the last minute. You can pay with a debit or credit card or even do an EFT. Upon confirmation, you will receive exact details of the farm where training will take place. We will start at 08:00 and finish at 16:00.
What will I learn?
Our facilitators are chicken farmers who understand what it takes to build a business from the ground up. The Saturday workshop will cover a range of broiler management topics to ensure that you hit the ground running.
From chicken housing, equipment and shed preparation to litter, rearing management, feed and feeding, lighting, ventilation, health and biosecurity, we have got you covered. We’ll also teach you some of the basic principles of business management: from business registration and a daily checklist that you should follow.
Is it expensive?
Nope. Food For Mzansi fans only pay R1950 (with 1 week mentorship or R2 950 (6 weeks mentorship (incl. VAT). This includes course material as well as refreshments and lunch. Besides the one-day training, you will also get personal mentorship by an experienced farmer for a period of one or six weeks via WhatsApp and video calls. You’ll have to report on a weekly basis so we can guide you as you begin your journey.
What are the entry requirements?
It doesn’t matter if you’re 14 or hitting your 60s, the Farmer’s Inside Track Academy will give you the tools to fast-track you while setting up your own agricultural enterprise. The only rule is that you should have space available to easily start farming. We’re not talking a lot of space here, but 3×6 metres would be a good start, even in your backyard.
