The nation’s most inspiring celebration of agricultural excellence is fast approaching. With entries now officially closed, excitement is mounting for the South African Agricultural Awards (SAAA) 2025, set to take place on Friday, 7 November 2025, at the Durban Christian Centre (Jesus Dome) in Durban.

Over the past few months, farmers, agripreneurs, students, and innovators from every corner of the country have shared their remarkable stories of growth, resilience, and innovation. The awards have drawn more than 1 000 entries across diverse categories – from emerging farmers and culinary trailblazers to youth champions and sustainability pioneers.

“This year’s awards mark a defining moment in our agricultural journey,” says Neliswa Cele, administrator of the South African Agricultural Awards. “Each entry tells a story of dedication, hope, and transformation – from smallholder farmers feeding their communities to visionary entrepreneurs creating green solutions for the future.”

The 2025 edition promises an unforgettable celebration of South Africa’s agricultural brilliance, featuring 35 award categories, powerful storytelling, and recognition of excellence across all sectors of agriculture. The evening will pay tribute to those cultivating change, driving food security, and building a sustainable legacy for the nation.

With AgriSETA as the proud partner, the South African Agricultural Awards continue to stand as a beacon of collaboration, growth, and opportunity, honouring the men and women who feed the nation with passion and purpose.

As the countdown begins, South Africans are encouraged to follow the journey and celebrate the stories that inspire change. Stay connected by following @saagriawards on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage, finalist announcements, and red carpet highlights.

THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE

With 21 global awards in the first six years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
