Jane Strijdom’s appointment as the country manager for South Africa by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) marks a notable step in strengthening key partnerships within the region’s fresh produce industry.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of agriculture, Strijdom remarked, “South Africa boasts a rich agricultural landscape, and it’s imperative to harness its potential to contribute to the global fresh produce market.”
Shaping a new vision
According to Strijdom, the IFPA’s collaborative endeavour between the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) and United Fresh Produce Association stands as a beacon for the global fresh produce and floral supply chain.
“The IFPA is about providing member value and connecting people in the industry which is very key to what we are doing and will continue doing,” she said.
With an agricultural lens, Strijdom envisions leveraging IFPA’s multifaceted services to support local companies.
“IFPA can assist local companies with a wide array of services, ranging from market access to retail information and local and international trends,” she added.
In her capacity, Strijdom will oversee IFPA Southern Africa events, including the upcoming Fresh Solutions gathering at Cavalli Estate in Stellenbosch on 13 March.
