Kynoch’s vision is to be a forward-thinking plant nutrition supplier that adds value to clients’ businesses through yield-enhancing technologies. If you are looking for a company that is relationship-driven as well as successful, then tune into this episode of Farmer’s Inside Track.
Kynoch Fertiliser is a leading importer, blender, and retailer of granular, liquid, and speciality fertilisers in Southern Africa, with a large sales and agronomic technical support team supporting farmers.
Kynoch has warehouses, as well as import and blending facilities, in all of Southern Africa’s major ports and a number of inland locations.
According to commercial retail manager Johan Botha, Kynoch created its own line of enhanced efficiency fertilisers, including its own foliar range that is crop and growth-stage specific. “We specialise and look at the plant nutrition, [as well as] a very large economical team,” he says.
Building relationships with farmers
Apart from Kynoch providing locals with the best blend of fertilisers, there is a great relationship between farmers and Kynoch.
“If we talk about relationships, it is built on trust, and it’s built over years. Kynoch as a company has been in South Africa for more than 100 years. Even when you are a small-scale farmer or a big commercial giant. We built the same kind of trust,” says Botha.
Technology and research are also important for growth, and it’s important for the company to keep up with the times and become innovative. It is important to give customers the best service and use technology to do just that.
“Where Kynoch Fertiliser is involved, we will gladly assist our customers. If it is a short-term crop or a longer-term crop – we got differences between anything from macadamia, citrus up to vegetables – we assist our customers with the precise app,” he says.
During the episode, Botha also discusses:
- How to get the best nutrients out of your soil;
- How Kynoch uses precision agriculture for optimal results; and
- How research is important for innovation at Knyoch.
