We start another exciting week with a webinar from the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, followed by a livestock auction. On Wednesday, there is a farm auction in the Western Cape.
As we prepare to wrap up the week, the African Farmers Association of South Africa (Afasa) continue with their webinars on poultry and red meat. We close the week by saving the date for the big and popular Food For Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba to be held next year.

IFAJ Webinar: Understanding Plant Breeding
Charles Darwin and Gregor Mendel famously laid down the plant breeding framework in the 19th century, and 21st-century plant breeding still leans heavily on their original ideas.
In this webinar, Syngenta’s Uri Krieger and Ian Jepson use the history of plant breeding as a context to better understand its importance in successful crop production, including how we can use it to develop the resilient crops needed to help growers tackle an increasingly volatile climate.

The Karoo Ochse will host their animal auction in Stella, North West where farmers in the area will auction their animals to the potential buyers.

Afasa webinars
The African Farmers Association of South Africa (Afasa) is continuing with its webinars on poultry and red meat industries. The webinars are aimed at helping farmers better understand the commodities and learn about opportunities.
Some of the topics to be covered include animal health and disease, agro-processing, collective marketing, bulk buying of production inputs and funding opportunities.

Food For Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba 2025
Save the date because the biggest Food For Mzansi event will be coming back again in the new year and this time around it is bigger and better.
