Greetings farmers
Food For Mzansi will host a series of farmers’ days across the country. The farmers’ days are aimed at equipping farmers with knowledge, skills, and information transfer. It is also an opportunity to bring decision makers and funders closer to rural farming communities.
The next farmers’ day will be in Bela Bela, Limpopo, on 20 May, and in Cullinan, Gauteng, on 22 May. Mpumalanga will follow on 10 June.

The African Farmers Association of South Africa (Afasa) in the Free State will host a training campaign regarding the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak.

Hortgro Symposium
The Hortgro Technical Symposium 2026 is designed to help producers navigate this complexity with clarity, science and practical insight. The symposium comprises a business/ strategy day and two technical days, from 25 to 27 May. There will also be a pome fruit field day on 28 May at EGVV, and a stone fruit seminar and orchard walk on 29 May in Simondium.
This five-day symposium brings together local and international thought leaders, scientists, economists, policymakers, researchers, advisors, industry stakeholders and producers to examine the issues shaping the future of pome and stone fruit and to share solutions that work in the orchard.
