Hello Mzansi! This week there’s a couple of important dates and deadlines you need to take note of. First up is a high-level discussion on the status of waste management in Mzansi and an opportunity to lease State land. While those in the Western Cape can apply for internship program with the department of agriculture, all of Mzansi can sit in on an interactive discussion on agricultural finance and investment.
Want to lease land in the Eastern Cape?
Be sure to submit your lease application to the department of agriculture, land reform, and rural development, which has announced a call for lease applications in Lady Grey, Eastern Cape. Six plots of land are available for up-and-coming farmers around the province.
But hurry, the application deadline is 18 February 2022.
Waste management discussion with environment, forestry and fisheries committee
The national portfolio committee on environment, forestry and fisheries, will discuss the status of waste management in South Africa. On the agenda are the currently existing waste streams in the country. Members will also be discussing respective waste stream generation and management.
The virtual sitting is scheduled to take place between 09:30 and 13:00.

Agri internship opportunities galore at Western Cape department of agriculture
Calling on all unemployed youth in rural areas of the Garden Route, Cape Winelands, Overberg, West Coast and Karoo regions to gain experience and exposure in agriculture. Preference will be given to children of agricultural workers. Women and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply
Successful candidates will be assigned as interns for a period of 24 months, during which they will get on-the-job development training in technical, professional, public service, business, and life skills that are essential and necessary for them to enter the official labour market.
The application deadline is 18 February 2022.
