With youth unemployment being a major challenge in South Africa, All4Youth Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) provides essential skills, mentorship, and opportunities for young people to succeed in corporate and entrepreneurial paths within the agricultural industry.
In this episode, Comfort Tshisikule, youth and learning development lead at Nestlé, and Masego More, CEO of Vermi Village, shared their insights on the opportunities available for youth in agriculture.
“All4Youth SSA, as we famously call it, is an initiative that was initiated by Nestlé over 10 years ago. Over the years, it has [been] replicated in different parts of the world. Here in Sub-Saharan Africa, we have partnered with like-minded companies to ensure that we meet our target of reaching 1 million young people by 2030,” Tshisikule explained.
She added that the initiative has attracted various alliances and big stakeholders. These partnerships ensure that young people are supported through mentorships, internships, and entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly in agriculture.
According to Tshisikule, their programmes and resources such as Nestlé’s Career E-guide, aim to empower young people by connecting them to real-world experiences, industry experts, and valuable resources.

Meanwhile, More discussed their efforts to drive regenerative agriculture through vermiculture, which focuses on improving soil health using organic composting methods.
“Vermi Village is fairly new in the game. Our vision is to become a market leader within the compost manufacturing side of things because we really believe in going back to using organic material. We want to do away with the use of heavy chemicals, especially within our soil, because we’ve seen that it causes soil degradation,” she said.
