Results for the Top Employers for 2023 are in and Mzansi’s Agriculture Research Council (ARC) has been named the top employer in the country.
ARC won the award based on the Top Employers Institute’s (TEI) programme that certifies organisations that achieved good results in their participation in the HR Best Practices Survey. The survey consisted of six HR domains with 20 topics, namely people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity, equity and inclusion, and finally well-being.
“This recognition proves how committed ARC is to walking the talk as the employer of choice. Our employees are valued, and they are the pillars for excellence in research and development,” said Dr Litha Magingxa, CEO and president.
ARC chief HR officer Besa Muthuri, told Food For Mzansi about how grateful she was to her team that was involved in the entire certification process. She said the certification affirmed ARC’s promise of redefining excellence in people practices and building a strong workplace culture.
Reaping the rewards
“I am delighted to see our efforts recognised,” she said.
In agreement was TEI CEO David Plink, who said that exceptional times bring out the best in people and organisations. Claiming that in this year’s survey, exceptional performances have been on display from this year’s top employers.
“These employers have always shown that they care for the development and well-being of their people. By doing so, they collectively enrich the world of work. We proudly announce and celebrate this year’s group of leading people-oriented employers: the Top Employers 2023,” said Plink.
A total of 2 052 employers have been recognised by the programme in 121 countries and regions on five continents. This year’s South Africa certification event will take place on Thursday, 19 January at the Sandton Convention Centre.
