The Ditsobotla’s top-performing matriculants of 2025 received brand-new laptops sponsored by NWK, paving the way for their tertiary studies. This was done to motivate students on their next academic journey.
They were honoured during a prestigious function at Hoërskool Lichtenburg recently, hosted by the North West department of education.
In a statement, NWK stated that there were 21 secondary schools in the sub-district and NWK has been undertaking this project to assist these schools’ top-performing matriculants since 2013/2014. The value of this year’s donation amounts to more than R300 000.
In addition, NWK sponsored the framing of certificates that were handed out last Friday to the value of more than R15 000.
Empowering farming communities
NWK’s director of economic development, Benedict Modise, said that for many decades the company has been playing a vital role in advancing agricultural development, job creation and economic growth in North West.
“We believe that the success of the company is inseparable from the success of the communities we serve. By rewarding the top learner from each school with a brand-new laptop and software, we aim to contribute in a practical way to the future of our young people.
“Digital skills are not just an advantage in today’s world; they are a necessity,” Modise stated.
