This week is jam-packed with fascinating events, including a transformation food system webinar, the Farmer’s Inside Track Summit, a Gather To Grow session, a series of webinars on antimicrobial resistance in the environment, and a wine tasting and opening centre at the garden café in Franschhoek. Dumelang Mzansi, we are bringing you thrilling events. Transforming the Food System, presented by Agra and Global Development Hub, kicks off our events week, followed by Food For Mzansi’s first ever Farmer’s Inside Track Summit.

Join Food For Mzansi again on Wednesday for its weekly Gather To Grow session on Twitter Spaces. On Thursday you can look forward to a webinar series presented by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, and we conclude the week with a silent disco and wine launch at the Garden Café in Franschhoek by Black Elephant Vintners and Co.

To highlight the role for science and technology in driving innovation and informing evidence-based food systems interventions, Agra [Sustainable growing Africa’s food system] and Global development hub are hosting a virtual event to discuss the food systems change agenda for government, the private sector, and policymakers.

Farmer’s Inside Track Summit

For two days, Food For Mzansi will host its first ever summit aimed at providing farmers with information, tools, and networking opportunities. We are pleased to announce that the Graham & Rhona Beck Skills Centre in Robertson, Western Cape, will house this year’s summit. Business management and a variety of other masterclasses will be available to summit attendees as well.

Antimicrobial resistance in the environment webinar

Farming and human health intersect at this webinar brought to you by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The Webinar “Understanding the basics of environmental Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) for national action” is part of the “Antimicrobial Resistance in the Environment Webinar Series” produced by the Quadripartite of FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH, to address health threats at the human-animal-plant-environment interface and to promote health and sustainable development.

Wine tasting in Franschhoek

This event party is hosted on by Black Elephant Vintners & Co. There will be a silent disco and wine party to celebrate the opening of the tasting facility at the garden café in Franschhoek.

The event will feature wine tastings from a variety of Black Elephant vintners, including white, red, and Cap Classique varieties, and guests will take home goodie bags as well.
