High up on the agri agenda, the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association invites you to an open session where key players in the agri-sector will dissect the industry and provide sustainable solutions on how we can recover from an economic recession.

Next up, it is the final day of the World Intelligent Farming Summit where agribusiness professionals will share the latest trends in intelligent farming. Finally, the Citrus Academy is offering bursaries to students who are enrolled in post-school education at registered tertiary education institutions in the country, to study towards a qualification in agriculture.

The recovery of agri after the recession

The Animal Feed Manufacturers Association (AFMA) is inviting you to attend its 73rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will feature significant players in the agriculture sector who will discuss the current political landscape of South Africa, give an overview of the agricultural policy environment and give insights on how the sector can recover from an economic recession.

On the panel sits professor in political sciences at the University of South Africa, Prof. Dirk Kotzé, chief executive officer of Agbiz, Dr John Purchase and economic advisor to the Optimum Investment Group, Dr Roelof Botha.

Interested stakeholders can visit AFMA AGA to register. The open session will take place at 10:25 to 13:15 today.

Agri meets tech

You are virtually invited to join the first annual World Intelligent Farming Summit that will focus on technological advancements and real-world applications of smart sensors, precision agriculture, vertical farming, industrial monitoring, as well as unmanned aerial vehicle and robotics applications in agriculture.

This hybrid event will bring together agribusiness professionals from global brands to discuss the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to improve company performance in the digital era.

If you are interested in gaining exceptional knowledge on the latest trends in intelligent farming and how other technologies are rapidly changing the farming and agriculture industry, book your seat here.

Citrus Academy’s bursary applications are now open!

The Citrus Academy is giving graduates that are studying in fields related to citrus production and research the opportunity to apply for a bursary fund that will fund their studies until they graduate.

To qualify you need to be a South African citizen in their second year studying plant and crop production, plant pathology, horticulture, soil science, entomology, agricultural economics, agricultural management or industrial, mechanical or agricultural engineering.

Successful candidates will be assimilated into various vocational learning opportunities. This includes an internship, graduate placement, and a holiday work programme.

THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE

With 11 global awards in the first three years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
