AECI Plant Health, a leading provider of crop protection and nutrition products, is committed to developing innovative solutions that promote sustainable agriculture.

In this episode, David Hendricks, technical manager at AECI Plant Health, discusses the company’s approach to sustainability.

“At AECI Plant Health, we prioritise creating products with minimal environmental impact while promoting plant health to reduce the need for interventions,” explains Hendricks.

Promoting plant health sustainably

AECI Plant Health, a leading supplier of fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and biofertilisers, have a big focus on bio-regenerative, biogenerative, and food chain-conscious solutions. For instance, their proprietary biofertilisers promote plant growth and nutrient uptake in the soil.

“We have a phrase in our business called good chemistry. This means understanding the needs of farmers, consumers, and the environment.

“We strive to develop sustainable agrochemical solutions to enhance crop performance while preserving the environment and ensuring consumer safety,” Hendricks says.

A shift towards more targeted solutions

Hendricks also explains why he believes the future of agricultural inputs hinges on several factors, referring to evolving regulations and consumer trends. Why a shift towards more targeted solutions with reduced environmental impact can be expected in the future, is also discussed.

“We are actively developing bio-based products and exploring ways to minimise residue in food. Climate change is another consideration, and we are prepared to adapt product development to address changing pest and disease patterns,” Hendrick says.

In this episode, he also discusses:

  • Crop protection and nutritional products from AECI Plant Health;
  • Adapting to future challenges and more.
