Agritech pioneer Khula! secured eight Pixels at the 2026 IAB South Africa Bookmark Awards, including four golds. By linking farmers directly to suppliers, markets, and finance, Khula! helps local agricultural businesses grow sustainably.

Khula! has taken home eight Pixels at the 2026 IAB South Africa Bookmark Awards, including four golds, one silver and three bronzes, recognising the digital innovation behind its work to build a more connected agricultural ecosystem. The award-winning digital work was developed in collaboration with digital agency MakeReign.

The wins recognise Khula!’s work connecting farmers to markets, inputs, finance and opportunity through technology, spanning strategy, software and technology innovation, interactive design, mobile applications, customer experience, platform innovation and interface design.

How digital design is transforming SA farming

For an agritech business, the recognition is significant. It highlights how technology is increasingly becoming part of the solution to some of agriculture’s most persistent challenges – from accessing markets and sourcing inputs to finding financial opportunities and managing a farming business.

Khula! was built around this complexity.

What started as a platform connecting farmers to markets has evolved into a broader digital ecosystem designed to connect farmers with the tools, services and opportunities they need to grow.

Through Khula! Inputs, farmers can access agricultural products and suppliers. Khula! Trader connects farmers to market opportunities, while Khula! Money focuses on connecting farmers to financial opportunities. Together, these products reflect Khula!’s approach to agriculture: recognising that farmers’ needs are interconnected and cannot be solved through a single product or service.

Building a user-centric ecosystem for farming

The awards acknowledge not only the technology itself, but the strategy, design and user experience behind building digital products around the realities of agriculture – work developed in collaboration with MakeReign.

Chief product officer and co-founder, Matthew Piper, said, “We’re incredibly proud of this win. Being in the agri space, we wanted to create something genuinely different, something unexpected, intuitive and exciting. That’s what led us to the Khula! Apps and the design experience we’ve built around them.

“It’s rare to see an agriculture company recognised among the best in design, which makes this win even more special. It shows that innovation in agriculture isn’t just about the technology, but also about how people experience it. We’re incredibly proud to see that vision recognised.”

For Khula!, the achievement is more than an awards milestone. It is recognition of a broader ambition: using technology to make it easier for farmers to build sustainable businesses.
