Jaco Beyers, managing director for John Deere Africa Middle East, shares in an exclusive interview what they have in store for next year.
“We are delighted and blessed with growth achieved in South Africa and the rest of Africa. We just want to build on that. We’re quite methodical in breaking down our strategies and we have a specific structure for growing our large-scale agriculture such as maize, soya and wheat. For that, we have a lot of new technologies,” Beyers says.
He explains how these technologies are aimed at helping the farmer farm more productively. What excites him is their new focus on new-era farmers and in this episode, he explains what they have in store for new-era farmers.
Sustainable agriculture and new-era farmers
Beyers also shares how John Deere plans to contribute to sustainable agricultural practices and plans to tailor its solutions to cater to the needs of new-era farmers.
“What we’ve quickly learned is that every farmer is different. For new-era farmers with fire their bellies who are looking to grow, [I encourage you] to look at John Deere. Every two years, you are going to grow out of your skin and will need to replace your current equipment with something bigger.”
In this episode, Beyer also discusses:
- How they grow with farmers; and
- Strategic collaborations John Deere is pursuing in 2024 and more.
