We’ve got an exciting week ahead!
On Monday, we start off with the department of agriculture, land reform rural development and Agricultural Research Council’s (ARC) transformation conference in Pretoria.
Please make use of Tuesday to save the date for the Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Nexus with Agriculture Under Climate Change Masterclass happening in March. This is followed by the Local Kitchen Wine Festival happening in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
On Thursday, we have the Potato Symposium happening in Johannesburg, followed by a livestock sale in Mpumalanga on Friday.

DALRRD and ARC conference
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) in partnership with the department of agriculture, land reform, and rural development (DALRRD), will host their first-ever joint annual conference. The conference will be inaugurated and addressed by minister Thoko Didiza on 12 February. Dr Litha Magingxa, the ARC’s CEO and president, will also be in attendance, signifying the inaugural joint conference of this nature within the agricultural sector.

Save the date for the Agriculture Under Climate Change Masterclass
The Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Nexus with Agriculture Under Climate Change Masterclass is taking place in March. Agriculture is one of the world’s largest industries, providing daily sustenance and livelihoods for millions. However, there are growing concerns about agriculture’s contribution to climate change as the sector accounts for over 70% of freshwater use and 23% of greenhouse gas emissions.
The event aims to bring together stakeholders, experts, policymakers, researchers, sustainable managers, and industry leaders to explore innovative solutions, share knowledge, and collaborate on ESG-related challenges and opportunities in agriculture

The 7th Potatoes South Africa Transformation Symposium
The seventh Potatoes South Africa Transformation Symposium promises to inspire innovation and sow the seeds of transformative change in the potato industry.
The symposium will gather farmers and industry leaders under the theme “Human capital development – an essential step in unlocking strategies for economic inclusivity”. The event serves as a vital vehicle for new-era potato producers and community project leaders to interact with industry role players.
