We start our new week with a save-the-date for what is expected to be a jam-packed month. The Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa will have a conference, followed by the Agricultural Research Council Beef Cattle Farmers’ Day.
Midweek we go to the Free State where Afasa will be hosting their farmers’ day, we look in at the Swartland show and wrap the week with Nampo Cape.
Monday 02 September
AEASA Conference
The Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA) will host its 61st conference. The theme of the conference is “Agricultural economics research for mitigation and adaptation to climate change in Southern Africa”.
This conference will showcase cutting-edge research work on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, with a special focus on Southern Africa, as well as research on other topics of vital interest to agricultural economists, farmers, and relevant policymakers in the region.

Tuesday 03 September
ARC Beef Cattle Farmers’ Day
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) will host a beef cattle farmers’ day under the theme “basics of beef farming”. Role players in the industry will speak on the importance of beef farming, the challenges and opportunities.

Wednesday 04 September
Afasa Farmers’ Day
The African Farmers Association of South Africa (Afasa) in the Free State will host a month-long farmers’ day to capacitate farmers and share knowledge, expertise, contacts and best practices to navigate the farming space. The farmers’ day will be held in Welkom.

Thursday 05 September
Swartland Show
One of the largest agricultural shows in the Western and Southern Cape celebrates its 90th anniversary this year with an event for the whole family. Swartland Show Moorreesburg will showcase the finest from this region to 20 000 visitors.
The show is renowned for its top-tier horses, cattle, sheep, and poultry, alongside a machinery exhibition valued at R230 million.

Friday 6 September
Nampo Cape
