On Tuesday, the Dipilo Holdings Farmer’s Market hosts an exciting farmers camp in North West.
The Stellenbosch University’s faculty of agrisciences hosts it annual Mohammad Karaan memorial lecture on Wednesday. On the same day, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa and United Phosphorus Limited invites you to join a webinar on soil health and carbon farming.
On Thursday the Agricultural Development Agency hosts its webinar on the severe impact of the energy crisis on agriculture and possible technology solutions. The work week ends with goat farming training on Friday, presented by the Qhakaza Goat Farmers Association.

Dipilo Holdings Farmer’s Market
Dipilo Holdings Farmer’s Market invites all farmers to a weekend camp in Boskhoek, North West. Expect a bunch of outdoor activities, discussions on all things agriculture and networking sessions with industry experts.
Speakers will include Koketso Baloyi-Mofokeng, a young horticulture farmer in the North West; Dinake Motona, Afasa Cannabis Commodity: national deputy chair and North West provincial chairperson; Hester Herridge, goats and feed farmer; Andrew Aphane, wildlife economy and game ranching expert.

Annual Mohammad Karaan Memorial Lecture
You are invited to the Annual Professor Mohammad Karan Memorial lecture. Dr Uma Lele will be the speaker of the day and her presentation will be on Africa’s development challenges. She is a well-known world economist and the lecture can be attended in person or virtually.

Soil health and carbon farming webinar
Convened in the build-up to the African Fertiliser and Soil Health Summit to be held in June 2023, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa and United Phosphorus Limited invites you to join a webinar. The webinar will explore the ways in which soil health is a key enabler for crop resilience and performance, carbon sequestration and the overall achievement of food security practices.
Reflecting on the regenerative practices and cutting-edge technologies capable of restoring soil health, panellists will analyse issues around accessibility, suitability and affordability amongst smallholder farmers – before determining the priorities for public-private sector engagement and action to foster progress.

Join the Agricultural Development Agency’s (Agda) webinar on the severe impact of the energy crisis on agriculture and possible technology solutions.

Goat farming training
Qhakaza Goat Farmers Association is hosting training sessions on goat farming. These sessions will include an introduction to goat markets, practical animal husbandry, study material and information on land, and artificial insemination. It is hosted in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal and R1 650 will get you in.
