Hello Mzansi! There’s much to look forward to this week in agriculture. On Monday, you can nominate a young farmer to win big prize and on Tuesday AgriSETA is hosting a stakeholders engagement.
Wednesday offers a livestock auction and the invitation is open to anyone. On that same day Food For Mzansi’ gather with farmers who share tips on growing cabbages. On Thursday, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is hosting a webinar on family farming and on Friday you are invited to the Garden Route Wine Festival in Mossel Bay.

Young Farmer competition 2022
Do you know of a young farmer that deserves recognition for their hard work in agriculture? The TLU SA is inviting you to submit nominations for its 2022 Young Farmer of the Year competition.
The annual farmer competition is in full swing and people from all over South Africa are expected to enter. The winners, who will be announced at the TLU Congress on 7 September, are in for a treat because big prizes are up for grabs.

AgriSETA stakeholder engagement roadshow
AgriSETA invites you to its AgriSETA stakeholder engagement in the Northern Cape. The stakeholder session is part of a roadshow held in various provinces and will focus on the medium to long-term goals of AgriSETA as well as their annual performance plan strategies for 2022 and 2023. Registration is required for physical attendance, and links for virtual attendance will be provided closer to the event date.

Free State livestock auction
Farmers in the Free State have been invited by BKB to bring their livestock to be auctioned off at the Winburg grounds. All types of livestock are welcome. Conditions of sale include: Only cash or electronic payments on the day of sale; 1% handling fee on cash payments; electronic transfer facilities; and FICA documentation with registration process.
All goods will be sold at a reserve price and the right exists to bid by or on behalf of the owner or auctioneer.
