At the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba, you better believe we’re spicing things up with some lekker offerings on the menu, including chicken feet! This year, we’ve deliberately kept the ticket prices low, so you can treat yourself at various food stalls.
Moreover, there’s still time to snag a ticket for the networking bash on Thursday, 4 April, where a DJ will be keeping the vibes alive until 23:00. For just R250, your bash ticket grants you access to a spit braai and a complimentary drink courtesy of South African Breweries. Plus, we’ve got you covered with a cash bar for additional refreshments.
If you’re clever, you will simply register for Food For Mzansi’s free membership club and purchase a two-day indaba ticket for R500 on Quicket. Access to the networking dinner is then automatically included.
Food For Mzansi, the organisers of the indaba, say they can’t wait to welcome more than 550 people per day at the event from Thursday, 4 to Saturday, 6 April at Lavender Kontrei Market in Pretoria North.
“Expect three days of inspiration, innovation, and networking,” says Ivor Price, co-founder of Food For Mzansi. “The programme is jam-packed with the who’s who of agriculture, and we are most excited about welcoming international visitors from Nigeria, Lesotho, and Namibia, among others.”
Now, let’s talk food – an integral aspect of any South African gathering. Building on Price’s excitement, the Mzansi Flavour Food Court is ready to tantalise taste buds with its diverse offerings.
From juicy hamburgers to savoury boerewors rolls, refreshing drinks, and local delicacies like walkie talkies, there’s something to please every palate. So, while you’re busy mingling and exchanging ideas, don’t forget to fuel up at the food court to keep the inspiration flowing!
Celebrating black-owned wine brands
Speaking of tantalising treats, let’s not overlook the South Africa Wine Lounge, a highlight of the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba located within the exhibition area. This year’s edition promises an impressive line-up of no fewer than eight black-owned wine brands.
Handpicked by South Africa Wine, this curated selection aims to spotlight the diverse flavours and success stories behind some of the country’s most dynamic wine brands and their passionate owners. Among the esteemed exhibitors are Thokozani Wines, Natasha Williams Signature Wines, and Lucmo Wines.
Karin Kleinbooi, executive manager for transformation and development at South Africa Wine, said embracing the spirit of growth and empowerment, they are thrilled to participate in the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba for the third consecutive year.
“This year is particularly special as we proudly showcase not just our exceptional wines but the fruits of sustainable agriculture and the vibrant success of eight black-owned wine brands,” she said.
“Our commitment to transforming the landscape of South African agriculture is embodied in each bottle, celebrating the rich synergy between wine and the bountiful fields from which they emerge. Join us on this exciting journey of innovation, diversity, and the flourishing union between wine and agriculture.”
