While attendance on Saturday, 6 April is optional, it offers a high-level programme. This includes a business training workshop tailored for high-potential young farmers, alongside a concurrent session colloquium that delves into critical topics such as agriculture, food security, and climate change in Africa.

Ivor Price, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Food For Mzansi, expressed excitement about welcoming attendees to the indaba function.

Celebrating diversity in every sip
This year, the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba also features a selection of outstanding black-owned wine brands, including Thokozani Wines, Natasha Williams Signature Wines, and Lucmo Wines. Attendees will have the opportunity to savour the exquisite flavours that South Africa has to offer.
Curated by South Africa Wine, eight exceptional wine brands have been chosen to exhibit at the indaba, providing attendees with a unique chance to connect and explore the diverse world of local wines.
Karin Kleinbooi, executive manager for transformation and development at South Africa Wine, said embracing the spirit of growth and empowerment, they are thrilled to participate in the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba for the third consecutive year.

John Deere’s commitment to SA’s young farmers
Meanwhile, John Deere’s managing director for Africa and the Middle East, Stephan Gouws, said he is looking forward opportunity to meet and engage with South Africa’s young farmers at the upcoming indaba.
“Our partnership with Food For Mzansi presents an exciting chance to gain deeper insights into the needs of farmers. It’s also an invaluable opportunity to learn from and engage with the next generation of agricultural leaders,” he said.
According to Gouws, the current agricultural scene in South Africa holds great promise for young farmers, especially when it comes to mechanisation and technology.
