This Women’s Day, two aspiring female farmers can benefit from a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity offered by the South African Poultry Farmers and Suppliers Association (SAPFSA) and Food For Mzansi.
It does not matter where in the country you are based, if you are selected the SAPFSA will not only give you business development training and mentoring, but also set you up with everything you’ll need to be a chicken farmer in your own right.
Yes, the successful candidates will each receive 100 day-old broiler chicks, feed and much-needed chicken farming equipment. They will be expected to attend a full-day training session on the basics of poultry farming on Saturday, 21 August in Pretoria.
Thereafter, they will be assisted with registering their businesses while holding their hands as they journey towards success.
SAPFSA spokesperson Jay Phunk says the organisation is most excited about giving two future farmers this opportunity. The SAPFSA believes that a new generation of poultry farmers have the potential to build a better future not only for themselves, but for their respective communities too.
