The Food For Mzansi Group has emerged as a frontrunner in digital publishing, securing an impressive six nominations in the esteemed 2023 Bookmark Awards. The finalists for this year’s awards were announced by the IAB South Africa, marking the 15th anniversary of this prestigious event.

The Bookmark Awards serve as a platform to celebrate excellence in the digital realm and acknowledge the profound impact of interactive media on the broader marketing landscape. Setting the bar for technological advancements, digital innovations, and creative executions with tangible outcomes, the awards aim to inspire and enlighten industry professionals about the transformative power of digital platforms in brand building.

The Food For Mzansi Group’s multiple nominations across diverse categories underscore their unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. In the category of Specialist Publisher Sites, the group received nominations for their publications Food For Mzansi and Health For Mzansi. Their formidable competitors in this category include News24’s CrimeCheck and News24 Impact Report.

In the highly competitive email newsletters and marketing category, the Food For Mzansi Group solidified its dominance with three nominations for outstanding newsletters: Farmer’s Inside Track, Health For Mzansi, and Stories of Change. They will be vying for victory alongside notable contenders such as News24’s “Good morning, SA” and AfrikaBurn.

Additionally, the group’s live event content garnered well-deserved recognition, earning a nomination for the 2022 edition of the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba held at Hotel Sky in Johannesburg. Other distinguished finalists in this category include Joe Public for a captivating Chicken Licken event and Ogilvy South Africa for their remarkable Castle Lager campaign titled “Bread of the nation.”

A panel of esteemed industry experts, led by Khensani Nobanda, the jury president for the Bookmarks, meticulously selected this year’s finalists. Nobanda is also the group executive for marketing and corporate affairs at Nedbank.

Ronelle Louwrens, a senior executive at the Food For Mzansi Group, said their impressive nominations across various categories highlight the niche publishing house’s dedication to delivering impactful digital content and services. “Our presence in the Bookmark Awards demonstrate our position as a key player in the digital marketing landscape in South Africa, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

The winners of the 2023 Bookmark Awards will be unveiled during the official ceremony at Vodacom Dome in Midrand, Gauteng, on Thursday, 27 July.

THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE

With 15 global awards in the first four years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
