Greetings farmers
This week we have a lot of public holidays, but there is much going on in the world of agriculture. Join the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (Casp) information day arranged by Saamtrek Saamwerk, followed by a beekeeping training programme for those interested in the bee industry. The Cape Winelands Autumn Expo promises all the action of what is going on in the five terroirs of this popular wine region.
Very soon, all roads will lead to the Free State, and we are looking forward to the upcoming Nampo Bothaville event.
We close off the week with a livestock auction.

Nampo Bothaville
As agriculture faces mounting global challenges and increasingly interlinked food systems, the spotlight turns to how local producers can harness global knowledge, networks, and innovations to strengthen South African agriculture. This year’s Nampo Harvest Day, the 57th presentation of the flagship event from 13 – 16 May 2025, embraces the theme “Global agriculture, locally!”
As food security, input costs, and production efficiency dominate agricultural conversations, Nampo 2025 provides producers with the tools, technologies, and relationships they need to navigate this complex landscape. Whether it’s cutting-edge machinery, climate-adaptive seed varieties, agri-finance services, or digital solutions, Nampo remains the platform where local meets global in real time.
