There is a pressing need for innovation in food production and supply to ensure food security, environmental sustainability, and the well-being of the global population. At the upcoming African Agri Investment Indaba, top agribusiness CEOs will discuss the strategic integration of sustainable practices within agribusiness, in the face of climate change.
The investment indaba – in its sixth year – will be hosted from 20-22 November 2023 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in the beautiful city of Cape Town and promises to be an extravagant spectacle.
Thought-provoking discussions
It features some of the most prominent CEOs in the agribusiness sector who will deliberate during a panel titled “Agribusiness CEO Panel: How We Made it In Food and Agriculture – Becoming a Leading Food Supplier”.
Speakers will include Guillaume Couture, chief executive officer of Malteries Soufflet, France; Norman Celliers, chief executive officer of AFGRI, South Africa; Adeline Lescanne-Gautier, chief executive officer of Nutriset, France; and Ramachandran Ottapathu, chief executive officer of Choppies Botswana, Botswana.
According to Reinhard Lotz, marketing director at the African Agri Council, each panellist brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the discussion. “Attendees can expect to gain invaluable insights into the makings of a leading food supplier from the distinguished experiences of our speakers,” he said.

The indaba organised by the African Agri Council, a pan-African institution that promotes the development of sustainable food and agriculture in Africa, will focus on “achieving food security through private sector investment: the battle of narratives”.
Over 900 key stakeholders – from governments, banks, financiers, investors, project owners, project developers, commercial farmers and the agro-processing industry – are expected to attend and discuss trends that will likely influence food and agribusiness economics over the next decade in Africa.
“The African Agri Investment Indaba was developed to address current trends influencing investors’ confidence in African agriculture,” said Lotz.

It covers various facets within the agribusiness sector in Africa and globally with a specific focus on creating a voice for investment-ready agricultural projects, policymakers, and agribusinesses and bringing structure and efficiency in connecting investors and financiers with food and agricultural opportunities in Africa.
