Agri SA is buzzing with excitement as they unveil the details of the much-anticipated Green Horizons 2024 Agricultural Congress. The event is set to take place at V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on 9 and 10 of October 2024, and it promises to be a landmark occasion for the agricultural sector.

Johann Kotzé, the chief executive officer of Agri SA, announced the congress’ theme, “Green horizons”.

“This theme embodies the essence of the congress, it highlights our dedication to sustainable agriculture, forward-looking strategies to tackle future challenges, and our unwavering commitment to nurturing growth, innovation, and collaboration within the industry,” he said.

Setting the tone

According to Agri SA, the congress will kick off on the afternoon of 9 October with their annual general meeting. The gathering will set the stage for what’s to come, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the organisation’s progress and future plans.

“The main event unfolds on the 10th of October, with a new and innovative format designed to foster in-depth discussions and collaboration. The day will feature five thought-provoking topics, each hosted at one of five carefully selected venues within the V&A Waterfront.

“These locations, all within a short walking distance from each other, will allow attendees to easily move between sessions. Throughout the day, three sessions on each topic will be presented, inviting speakers and delegates to delve deep into the challenges and opportunities shaping South Africa’s agricultural landscape,” Agri SA said.

“As the day draws to a close, the congress will culminate in a grand gala dinner on the evening of the 10th of October. This event will not only celebrate AgriSA’s 120-year journey but also pay tribute to other companies that have surpassed the century mark.

“The Green Horizons 2024 Agricultural Congress is set to be a pivotal event, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to shape the future of South African agriculture.
