A further 20 000 learners are set to attend the 2023 leg of the AgriCareers roadshow presented by Food For Mzansi. Educators who represent high schools in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng can already register to participate with other provinces soon to follow.
The roadshow will kick off at the Mandela Barloworld Agricultural High School in Tzaneen, Limpopo on Monday, 20 February. Two days later the Mpumalanga leg will be hosted at Morgenzon Landbou Akademie with Bekker High School in Magaliesburg, Gauteng on Friday, 24 February.
Do not miss out!
Teachers who represent schools in and around these venues are invited to use the online registration form to ensure that their learners – preferably in grades 9 to 12 – do not miss out on the opportunity to engage with universities, colleges and future employers.
High schools in other provinces can click here to see when and where the popular career exhibitions will reach them. This year, AgriCareers will also reach Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape, Upington in the Northern Cape, Clanwilliam in the Western Cape, Bothaville in the Free State, and Brits in North West.
Spreading hope
“South Africans are really struggling to stay positive amid power cuts, fuel price hikes, corruption, and crime,” says Food For Mzansi co-founder and editor-in-chief Ivor Price. “We have decided, though, to continue spreading hope amid this challenging season. Agriculture is a sector of hope that offers thousands of study and career opportunities.”
Now in its fourth year, AgriCareers is powered by, among others, Laeveld Agrochem and Standard Bank. Since its inception, the programme has already reached more than 50 000 learners from Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State to Eerstegoud in Limpopo.
From scientists, veterinarians, accountants, journalists and marketers, participating learners are introduced to young professionals who will share more about their careers and study choices.
Exhibitors include the South African Institute of Agricultural Engineers, Andermatt Madumbi and the Kagiso Trust. Also, universities, colleges and other educational institutions are in attendance to guide learners with everything from subject choices to applications. This includes Stellenbosch University, the University of the Free State, Nelson Mandela University and AGRICOLLEGES international.
Companies who wish to exhibit during the AgriCareers roadshow can click here to sign up.
