In South African agriculture today, we’re heading to a crucial webinar on market access that hopes to improve South African access to regional and international markets.

Later, we’re looking in on an one-hour long event that will explore the outlook for Africa in the agricultural sector and discuss the financing of agriculture projects across the continent.

We will end the day off with a green economic recovery webinar by GreenCape which will discuss the latest investment opportunities in key sectors of the green economy.

Market Access Africa event

Market Access Africa (MAA) will today connect the entire food and agriculture business value chain with a focus on attaining and improving access to regional and international markets.

The pertinent event hosted by MAA in collaboration with African Agri Council (AAC), eThekwini Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal government and South African government, will unpack solutions around technologies and quality inputs as well as handling and storage solutions.

MAA will also present recent findings from partners, experts and industry leaders on where the opportunity for growth lies in African food and agriculture, looking closely at recent trends and drivers impacting the sector.

The event will take place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre Complex in Durban at 08:00 this morning.

Unlocking Africa’s potential in agriculture

Freshfields, together with the South African Chamber of Commerce, Brand South Africa and Absa Bank, invites you to an interactive discussion about the agriculture sector in Africa.

This hour-long event will explore the outlook for Africa in the agricultural sector, while simultaneously discussing the financing of agriculture projects across the continent. It will also present the challenges and opportunities for Africa’s farmers on the ground.

The virtual event will start at 12:00 this afternoon where panellist such as Roux Wildenbroer, head of Absa agriculture, Elaine Alexander from Intelligent Trade Africa and Nthuthu Mbiko-Motshegoa, chairperson of the African Farmers Association of South Africa will debate the mandate for the future of African agriculture.

Investing in a green economic recovery webinar

Leading green economy sector development agency GreenCape is joining forces with the long-running power and energy event platform, African Utility Week and POWERGEN Africa this afternoon at 15:30 to discuss the latest investment opportunities in key sectors of the green economy.

GreenCape’s annual Market Intelligence Reports (MIRs) will include updated investment opportunities and highlight the relevant legislation context and potential market barriers and risks, specifically focusing on energy services and water and sustainable agriculture.
